TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF APU AUSANGATE TREK

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following Terms and Conditions for booking a tour with us contain important information. Please read them carefully as they represent a binding contract between us; Apu Ausangate Trek and You; the Signatory, for the travel services provided by Apu Ausangate Trek. This document establishes the bases for a commercial relationship between you, the client, and Apu Ausangate Trek.

1. DEPOSIT

When you book a tour with us, you agree to pay a non-refundable deposit for the specified tour. The deposit for most multi-day hikes is $200 and $50 for day tours.

2. CONFIDENTIALITY OF PRICES

By booking with Apu Ausangate Trek, you agree to maintain the confidentiality of prices and will not disclose such information to any third party, except to the people who have booked (paid) with you, without the prior written consent of Apu Ausangate Trek.

3. CONFIRMATION

You will receive a confirmation email for the tour that you made a deposit. In that email, you will receive this document in PDF format. By booking with us, you agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions outlined in this document, and the contract enters into force.

4. CANCELLATIONS

The terms of cancellations are defined by the advance notice with which we are notified. No matter the cause, cancellations have different penalties that you «our client» agree to abide by.

  • Cancellations made one week prior to the trek are subject to forfeiture of 100% of the total cost of the excursion.
  • Cancellations made two weeks prior to the trek are subject to forfeiture of 80% of the total cost of the excursion.
  • Cancellations made three weeks prior to the trek are subject to forfeiture of 70% of the total cost of the excursion.
  • Cancellations made one month before the trek are subject to forfeiture of 60% of the total cost of the excursion.

5. IN CASE OF CANCELLATION DUE TO INCIDENTAL NOT RELATED TO COVID-19

Apu Ausangate Trek will do everything in their power to help you get to your destination, whether it be one of our tours or a different location. In addition, Apu Ausangate Trek will do everything in its power to change the dates of third party services, such as train tickets, hotel reservations and attraction tickets, following the terms and conditions of such third party service providers. You must cover all extra expenses.

6. SAFE

We recommend that you present us with a valid travel insurance policy at least three (03) days before the start of your trek. Apu Ausangate Trek puts a lot of effort into accident prevention during our tours. Our Guides are trained to respond appropriately in any given emergency situation. However, the nature of adventure tourism requires a dose of risk of accidents for which Apu Ausangate Trek disclaims any responsibility. Make sure your travel insurance covers plane cancellations, lost luggage and other things, emergency medical care, etc. Travel insurance is optional.

7. PAYMENTS AND FEES

An 8% international bank fee will be added to all credit card, PayPal payments of the remaining balance of your tours. Apu Ausangate Trek.

All payments made by credit card, Paypal must be completed one month prior to the start of your tour. If you do not complete your payment before this time, you will have a 10% increase in your total balance.

Late Paypal or credit card payments of your final balance are also subject to a 10% increase in your total balance. These additional fees will be used to cover additional charges to our third-party providers.

In the event that you plan to pay in cash, Apu Ausangate Trek will provide you with a secure credit card form that you must complete to ensure that your payment commitments are made in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Peru’s credit card payment systems are fairly new, expensive, and unreliable. Payments made in cash must be completed at least two days prior to the start of your tour. Cash payments are encouraged to maximize our operational capabilities. We understand that you may feel uncomfortable carrying large sums of cash, but in Peru, almost all payments, be it food, transportation, and labor, are made in cash.

8. STAY IN THE SACRED VALLEY REGION

If you plan to stay in the Sacred Valley Region (Ollantaytambo, Urubamba, etc.) before the start of your tour, you must complete your payments upon arrival in Cusco. Apu Ausangate Trek does not provide a courier service for handling cash payments outside the city of Cusco. You are responsible for making sure that we receive payment prior to your trip.

9. WEIGHT

If you are hurting an extra carrier depending on the option you have chosen (full carrier 16kg or half carrier 8gk). You agree not to exceed the weight limit of these. The duffel bags will be weighed every day before the trek starts, the weight of the duffel bags must not exceed the maximum weight you are allowed to carry. Failure to do so will result in an additional $50 USD fee being charged. The fee only applies to the person who violates the agreement.

10. FORCE MAJEURE

Apu Ausangate is not responsible for any force majeure events or circumstances beyond the control of Apu Ausangate Trek, including, but not limited to, acts of God, civil or military unrest, extreme weather, technological disruptions, labor strikes, or acts of war. or terrorism. The Client acknowledges that Apu Ausangate Trek may need to alter, or even cancel, a Trip in response to a force majeure event or circumstance, and will not be responsible for any alteration or cancellation.

11. PROTEST OR STRIKE EARLY DEPARTURE

In the event of a protest or strike, which may affect the itinerary of a Trip, Apu Ausangate Trek, at its discretion, may decide to leave the Trip early to provide the best possible service. In such cases, Apu Ausangate Trek will charge an increase to cover the additional costs incurred, the amount determined by Apu Ausangate, depending on the circumstances.

12. AUTHORITY GUIDANCE

The Client agrees that the Apu Ausangate Trek guides have full and final authority over all matters and decisions related to the Trip, and the Client will act in good faith to follow such authority and advice of the Apu Ausangate Trek guides. Apu Ausangate Trek.

13. PASSPORT VALIDITY

The client must ensure that their passport is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Peru. This is a requirement of the Peruvian government, and failure to do so may result in being denied permission to enter the country.

14. FITNESS AND MEDICAL EXAMS

  • You must inform Apu Ausangate Trek of any medical problems or allergies you may have. You must be in good physical health and, if your health is in doubt, you must consult a doctor. If you are over the age of 70, you will need to provide us with a medical certificate of good health.
  • You are responsible for evaluating whether a Tour is right for you. You should consult your doctor to confirm your fitness to travel and participate in planned activities. You should ask your doctor for advice on vaccinations and medical precautions. The company does not provide medical advice. It is your responsibility to assess the risks and requirements of each aspect of the trip based on your particular circumstances, limitations, physical condition, and medical requirements.
  • Apu Ausangate Trek reserves the right to deny you permission to travel or participate in any aspect of a trip at any time and at your own risk if the company determines that your physical or mental condition renders you unable to travel or represents a danger to himself or for others.

15. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apu Ausangate Trek Company reserves the right to modify or withdraw any travel agreement when deemed necessary. We are not responsible for any additional money expense, sickness; Accidents, or other irregularities that are caused by the companies that provide us with services related to the trip, we will not be responsible for any changes in the trip caused by climatic, political, or other similar changes.
  • Apu Ausangate is responsible for creating a satisfactory excursion or walk. We will serve you the best service in our journey and trek.
  • All passengers run at their own risk if they do not follow our itinerary, rules, or advice on our different tours and walks. Apu Ausangate Trek will be the limit to pay any additional cost after changing your itinerary.

16. PREGNANCY

It is considered a medical problem and must be communicated to the company at the time of booking. The company may refuse to transport pregnant women of more than 24 weeks. The company may refuse to transport anyone suffering from certain diseases if reasonable accommodations or alternatives cannot be arranged.

17. PRIVACY

Apu Ausangate Trek does not share your private information with any government or private agency that is not involved in providing you with the tourist services requested by you.
