1.

Day 1

Pick-up from your hotel at 6:30 am. We will leave Cusco by car and head toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas, continue onto Abra Malaga pass, and transport to Santa Maria town.

Day 2

We’ll walk for 45 minutes in Santa Teresa, we´ll decent to Quellomayo river to have a tasty lunch in a local house.

3.

Day 3

On day three we’ll have the opportunity to do the Zip Line activity with one of the highly trusted operators in the area. Another three hours of walking along the train tracks and the raging river bring you to the tourist town of Aguas Calientes.

Day 4

Today is the biggest day of all and finally we’ll visit Machupicchu one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Day 1: Cusco– Santa Maria: Biking and Rafting

Our jungle tour begins with the pick-up from your hotel at 6:30 am (confirmed by us a day before at the briefing). We will leave Cusco by car and head toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas where we enjoy our breakfast (not include).

Afterward, we will continue onto Abra Malaga pass (4350 m/14271 ft.) the highest point of the trek, where we will enjoy a wonderful landscape, from that point we begin our mountain biking, before start the tour guide will give all the details about the road and bikes and of course you will get all the riding equipment, the descent on our bikes are 55km/34.18 mi.

You’ll feel the wind rush past and watch as the landscape changes from the misty mountains to the beginning of the lush jungle. Along the way, you’ll feel how the weather change and get warmer the further down you get. We’ll have some stops along the way to enjoy the views, the riding finish in Huamanmarca a small village where we can buy some snacks or drinks.

From there, we’ll take transport to Santa Maria town at 1200 m/3937 ft., where we have our lunch them check into our lodge where we´ll spend the night.

In the afternoon, we have the option to do the River Rafting ($35) on the Vilcanota river on category III and III+ rapids. you’ll be safe because we provide you with helmets, windbreaks and life jackets. you must be able to swim to participate under Peruvian law.

Please note that this exciting activity is only available from April to December as the river rises during the wet season

Finally, in the evening we return to Santa Maria to have dinner and spend the night in our comfortable rooms.

Day 2: Santa Maria – Santa Teresa: Trekking and Cocalmayo Hot Springs

After delicious breakfast, we’ll walk for 45 minutes before heading uphill, on this part of the route, we’ll have several stops to learn about flora and fauna of the area also we’ll have a stop in a local house to understand about their life and how they produce the coffee and other products.

Them we continue to cross a section of original Inca trail that used to connect the sacred city of Machupicchu to the last refuge of the Incas Vilcabamba there your tour guide will explain you about history and their communication system, the Inca trails, on that point you will enjoy of a rally amazing view of the Huancarcasa canyon.

Afterward, we´ll decent to Quellomayo river to have a tasty lunch in a local house, after lunch we continue with our walk for 3 more hours, crossing in one point in a car and pulley (safe yet thrilling) to get Cocalmayo hot springs where we’ll enjoy this enchanting place. transport to Santa Teresa village where we enjoy a nice dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes: Zip line and trekking

On day three we’ll have the opportunity to do the Zip Line activity ($35) with one of the highly trusted operators in the area. this activity is optional the lasts approximately two hours, fly through the air 150 meters above ground over rivers and jungle, you will enjoy 4 lines to do in different positions like upside down, superman or condor, the zip line company include us the transportation to hydroelectric where we’ll enjoy our delicious lunch.

After lunch we have another three hours of walking along the train tracks and the raging river brings you to the tourist town Aguas Calientes. Travelers have the option to visit the local hot springs or relax and explore the town before dinner.

Optional: Zip line service isn’t include in your tour, if you would like to do just book with us, don’t lost this awesome experience.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes -Machupicchu -Cusco

Today is the biggest day of all and finally we’ll visit Machupicchu one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Our day will start with the option of hiking for 1 hour and half or bus to Machupicchu ($12).

Machupicchu entrance is open at 6.00am onwards, and we like to be one of the fist groups inside is why you will organize with your tour guide the best way to get Machupicchu hiking or bus, once there you’ll enjoy an informative 2-hour guided tour of all the important sites and see temples, terraces, palaces, the Intihuatana, the industrial sector and the farming center.

After your tour you will have time to explore by yourself or hike to Huayna Picchu mountain or Machupicchu mountain if you booked in advance ($25). Both mountain take you 1.5 and 3 hours up and down, respectively. If you didn’t get tickets, you can still hike to Sun Gate or Inca Bridge for fantastic views over the citadel.

You’ll have around 5 hours in total before you need to head back down to Aguas Calientes. you’ll have a little time to have some lunch in the restaurant that you want because the last day is not included. your train back to Cusco will be between 1:37pm and 6:20pm, depending on availability. when you get to Ollantaytambo our transport will be waiting for you to take you back to your accommodation in Cusco.

Up-grade return train

Vistadome Train + car return to Cusco extra $60 per person. This service generally departs at 15:25 pm from Aguas Calientes Station and arrives at 18:40 pm to Poroy (Cusco) Train Station then a 30 minutes private transportation to Cusco.

Huayna Picchu

Huayna Picchu is the mountain that stands next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45-minute hike to the top (On day 4th at 11.00 am). Ticket for Huaynapicchu costs $25 per person. If it is booked Machu Picchu Mountain walk Optional.

Machu Picchu Mountain

Machu Picchu Mountain is the other mountain that stands above the Machu Picchu ruins. This ticket is $25 per person.

Rafting or Zip line

Left Luggage during your tour

It is best to leave extra luggage in your hotel in Cusco since you will arrive back around 8:00 pm on the 4th day.

Passport and student card

We recommend that you bring your original passport and (Univ student card if applicable). If you have booked with an old passport number please you must bring both of your passport. Inform previously to our office staff in Cusco.

Temperature

  • Day temperatures vary from 12 -22 degrees Celsius
  • you must always use layering to manage the temperatures well. Night temperatures, (in the coldest season May to Sept) average -2 to -5 degrees Celsius.

Climbing of Huayna Picchu Mountain

On Day 4. If you have reserved and paid for a permit in advance, please reconfirm with our office staff and your trek guide at the briefing time. (When Huayna Picchu permits are sold out a walk to Machu Picchu Mountain is an option -3 hrs. walk). 

Peru Rail train tickets

If you would like any train tickets changes after the start of the trek must be made in person at Perurail in Aguas Calientes Station with proof of identity (ie your original passport.) They may charge fees for change of date and coach options will be according to space availability.
