Admire and see MACHU PICCHU -twice: at SUNSET and SUNRISE have plenty of time to explore on the 2nd Day. This tour consists on Day 1, a soft and gentle 5-6 hours walk through Chachabamba then admiring Wiñaywayna Inca town, walking through the Sun gate and arriving at MACHU PICCHU in the afternoon to see the sunset and delight with these unique views, staying in a warm hotel at Aguas Calientes town and next morning early we board the first bus to the Citadel and have a guided tour at all the remarkable temples and plazas in this magical and sacred wonder! 2-day excursion with hike and entrance to Machu Picchu twice
Early on the second day we will board a bus and travel for 30 minutes to get to this wonderful place. We will be surprised to meet Machu Picchu for the first time as the sun rises over the high mountains that surround it. The invaluable archaeological heritage of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu is magnificently combined with the splendid natural environment that is the habitat of unique species of flora and fauna.

Day 1: Cusco -Ollantaytambo- Km 104 Chachabamba- Wiñay-Wayna- Machupicchu-Aguas Calientes
Pick up from your hotel around 4:00 am (confirmed one day before) -2 hours’ drive in a private van to the train station in Ollantaytambo. Here we board the train and travel by train for 1 hour and 45 minutes to Km 104 (the start of our trek). It is worth the effort of getting up early and taking this train, which allows you to enter this park and begin your hike early.
At Km 104 after submitting passports at entry checkpoint control, we began our hike near the Vilcanota or Urubamba River. After walking for less than 10 minutes we will find the Incan ruins of Chachabamba, a stone altar -site that was used to worship the sun, the mountains, and nature. After visiting Chachabamba, we continued the path south and started a gradual climb to the mountain, before entering a cloud forest, overgrown, then The trail left the forest and went west while continuing uphill in an open meadow. After walking 3 hours, the road descends into an amazing forest. Here you will find a beautiful waterfall, then we get to see the lower part of the ruins of Wiñaywayna. Appreciate the beauty of this place, the architecture and design are amazing, stone canals and fountains, the tranquility and stories from our expert guide. After lunch at Wiñaywayna Incan town, we will continue our hike in the afternoon into the cloud forest, filled with bromeliads, orchids, and tree ferns. As we walk the last part of the trail, we pass many impressive features such as the stone stairs and resting places. Before you reach the (Inti Punku) the famous Gate of the Sun, you will need to climb 60 steep stone stairs. From here, you can see spectacular views of this wonderful Machu Picchu citadel surrounded by mountains and a dense forest. Then we keep descending for another 45 minutes to arrive at a mirador near the -Guardian House, a breathtaking view of most of the citadel with temples and constructions built in white granite rock, plazas, and terraces. After having enough time, we start descending to the entry of Machu Picchu. We board the bus to Aguas Calientes. Our official guided tour and exploration day will be the next day. Accommodation, rest, plans, and arrangements for tomorrow. The thermal baths are a good choice (bring your bathing suit and 20 Soles pp ).

Day 2: Aguas Calientes-Machupichu- Aguas Calientes - Ollantaytambo- Cusco
Breakfast from 04:30 am then board the first bus to Machu Picchu at 05:20, the park opens at 6:00 am. We have a guided tour of Machu Picchu, This enigmatic and mysterious city is explored for about 2-3 hours explained by your expert guide, You can visit the most amazing places, such as the Royal Mausoleum, the Temple of the Three Windows, the main temple, the Sacred Plaza, the famous Intihuatana where wise Inkas tied to the sun in the winter solstice in June, stairways, plazas, fountains, etc. In high season the train schedules may vary. After finishing our guided visit, we walked down to Aguas Calientes town for 1 hr., (option to take a bus down to AC -get a ticket for $ 12.00 pp) and optional lunch with our group (not included). Then we have some free time to explore this small village before boarding our train back to Cusco. The train departs Aguas Calientes at 3:20 pm, you will get to Cusco around 8:00 pm.

Huayna Picchu
Huayna Picchu is the mountain that stands next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45-minute hike to the top (On day 4th at 11.00 am). The ticket for Huaynapicchu costs $75 per person, a discount of $5 with a University student card. If it is booked Machu Picchu Mountain walk is Optional.

Machu Picchu Mountain is the other mountain that stands above the Machu Picchu ruins. This ticket is $75 per person.

Left Luggage during your trek
It is best to leave extra luggage in your hotel in Cusco since you will arrive back around 8:00 pm on the 4th day.
Passport and student card
We recommend that you bring your original passport and (Univ student card if applicable). If you have booked with an old passport number please you must bring both of your passport. Inform previously to our office staff in Cusco.

- you must always use layering to manage the temperatures well. Night temperatures, (in the coldest season May to Sept) average -2 to -5 degrees Celsius.
Climbing of Huayna Picchu Mountain
On Day 2 at 10:00 am. If you have reserved and paid for a permit in advance, please reconfirm with our office staff and your trek guide at the briefing time. The tickets for Huayna Picchu Mt are limited only 400 spots per day (you must please book in advance 7-6 months before . (When Huayna Picchu permits are sold out a walk to Machu Picchu Mountain is an option -3 hrs. walk). Otherwise, a free walk to the Inca Bridge is highly recommended.
Bus Up to Machu Picchu and bus Down to Aguas Calientes
Early in the morning, you will board the first bus to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. After your visit in Machu Picchu you are given your bus ticket for the ride down to Aguas Calientes which you can use at any time if you would like to further explore the site independently.
Peru Rail train tickets
If you would like any train tickets changes after the start of the trek must be made in person at Perurail in Aguas Calientes Station with proof of identity (ie your original passport.) They may charge fees for change of date and coach options will be according to space availability.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that full Travel Insurance is taken, which includes cover, under certain circumstances, against the loss of deposit or cancellation charges. Please note that no reimbursements are given when cancellations occur or for any unused services.
