Day 1

Pick up from your hotel in Cusco at about 06:40 - 6:50 am. Private transfer from Cusco to the train station in Poroy. Approximate 2-hour train ride. Arrive in Aguas Calientes and travel to nearby tourist attractions.

Day 2

At 5:00 am breakfast, we will then board the bus for the ascent to Machu Picchu, a guided tour of 2 hours and a half, then free time for photos, return to Aguas Caliente, and then return by train to Poroy and bus to Cusco.

The train journey consists of spectacular views on this wonderful land of the Incas, incredible landscapes of mountains and valleys, Inca farming terraces on both sides of the valley, snow-covered mountains.

Early on day 2 we will board a bus and travel for 30 minutes to get to this wonderful place. We will be surprised to meet Machu Picchu for the first time as the sun rises over the high mountains that surround it. The invaluable archaeological heritage of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu is magnificently combined with the splendid natural environment that is the habitat of unique species of flora and fauna.

Day 1: Cusco - Aguas Calientes

Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco at 06:40 to 6.50am. Private trasnportation to transfer you from Cusco to the Train Station in Poroy, 25 to 30 minutes drive from Cusco. We will then board a train and have a trip to the town of Aguas Calientes for approximately 2 hours. Along the train journey, we will enjoy the beautiful scenery following the course of the Urubamba River, In addition, we will appreciate from the window, the snow-capped peaks and the green valleys with some ancient terraces of Inca cultivation. Our staff will meet you at the train station and escort you to your hotel where you can sit back, relax and prepare for lunch. From around 2:30pm you can enjoy free time walking around the local markets, walking to the botanical garden and the Machu Picchu museum or walking to the Mandor waterfall. Day 2: Aguas Calientes to Machu Pichu Citadel - Train return to Cusco.

Early breakfast at 05:00am at the hotel. Then we are ready to board the first bus to Machu Picchu at approximately 05:30am and arrive at the entrance at 06:00am when the gates of this Sanctuary are open. Your guide will take you to the best place to take panoramic photos and then you will have a 2-hour guided tour of the most important areas of the site. After your tour, you'll have free time to explore the Inca citadel on your own, the Lost City of the Incas – Machu Picchu or spend more time in Huayna Picchu, if you choose to go there, (additional service with a different entrance). We recommend that you board a bus to the city of Aguas Calientes at 01:45pm 02:00pm. Your return train is usually at 03:15pm. Once you arrive at Poroy train station at 07:15pm our staff will meet you and arrange a drop-off at your hotel in Cusco.

Vistadome Train + car return to Cusco extra $60 per person. This service generally departs at 15:25 pm from Aguas Calientes Station and arrives at 18:40 pm to Poroy (Cusco) Train Station then a 30 minutes private transportation to Cusco.

Huayna Picchu

Huayna Picchu is the mountain that stands next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45-minute hike to the top (On day 4th at 11.00 am). Ticket for Huaynapicchu costs $ 25 per person, discount $5 with University student card. If it is booked Machu Picchu Mountain walk Optional.

Left Luggage during your trek

It is best to leave extra luggage in your hotel in Cusco since you will arrive back around 8:00 pm on the 4th day.

Passport and student card

We recommend that you bring your original passport and (Univ student card if applicable). If you have booked with an old passport number please you must bring both of your passport. Inform previously to our office staff in Cusco.

Temperature

  • Day temperatures vary from 12 -22 degrees Celsius
  • you must always use layering to manage the temperatures well. Night temperatures, (in the coldest season May to Sept) average -2 to -5 degrees Celsius.

Climbing of Huayna Picchu Mountain

On Day 2 at 10:00 am. If you have reserved and paid for a permit in advance, please reconfirm with our office staff and your trek guide at the briefing time. The tickets for Huayna Picchu Mt are limited only 400 spots per day (you must please book in advance 7-6 months before . (When Huayna Picchu permits are sold out a walk to Machu Picchu Mountain is an option -3 hrs. walk). Otherwise, a free walk to the Inca Bridge is highly recommended.

Bus Up to Machu Picchu and bus Down to Aguas Calientes

Early in the morning, you will board the first bus to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. After your visit in Machu Picchu you are given your bus ticket for the ride down to Aguas Calientes which you can use at any time if you would like to further explore the site independently..

Peru Rail train tickets

If you would like any train tickets changes after the start of the trek must be made in person at Perurail in Aguas Calientes Station with proof of identity (ie your original passport.) They may charge fees for change of date and coach options will be according to space availability.
